Ek n Jy

Marrian George is a proud sponsor of “Ek n Jy” NPC, a dedicated organisation serving the Koringberg community through three core pillars: Children’s Sports Development, Pensioner Care, and Animal Outreach. Their mission is to create programs that instill a sense of purpose and belonging in every individual. The Sports Development Programs currently include Chess, Touch Rugby, Netball, and Street Cricket, and they are continually seeking ways to expand these offerings. With your support, we can make a greater impact together!

Hiking, Biking and adventure seeking

For the mountain bike enthusiast, the Koringberg mountain biking trail follows a steep jeep track that rises from the Swartland planes. At the top, you’re treated to a 360-degree view that includes Table Mountain, the Cederberg and Winterhoek mountains.

And for the walker, you can stroll up a 5km trail that goes to the top of Koringberg with the same spectacular view. Also, visit the Atshumao spring used by the Khoi San to water their livestock.

Further afield, head to Citrusdal for a ziplining thrill, bouldering in the Cederberg, jump into mountain pools, adrenaline-pumping sand-boarding and quad-biking to name but a few activities to get your blood pumping.

Wine Farms

We may call the village of Koringberg (Wheat Mountain) home, but there’s more to the Swartland than wheat!

The region has become famous worldwide for producing some of South Africa’s finest wines, thanks to its combination of ancient soils, varied terroir, an abundance of bush vines and some seriously skilled winemakers.

Marrian George makes for an ideal base to explore the basketful of both maverick and tradional wine farms that make up the exciting tapestry of wine making in the Swartland. Take a drive through the villages of Riebeek-Kasteel, Riebeek West, Darling and the Piekenierskloof to name a few and pay a visit to the many world-class wine cellars in our region.

Spring Flowers

In Spring the profusion of wild flowers blooming across the West Coast and the Northern Cape make for a natural spectacle easily enjoyed on a day-trip from Marrian George.

In a nutshell, Marrian George makes for an ideal address to explore the Swartland, the West Coast and further north too.

Boating

Misverstand Dam is located less than 20 minutes’ drive from Marrian George, offering an array of water activities, including fishing, bird watching and swimming.
