MG Canteen
The MG Canteen celebrates British favourites and café-style classics, with delicious vegetarian options on a seasonally changing menu. Set in the original Wildehurst wine cellar, it welcomes both hotel guests and visitors.
Expect an evolving à la carte menu inspired by the owner’s travels—uncomplicated, generous and centred on fresh, seasonal produce. Fireside cooking on the outdoor grill adds a signature touch.
Sustainability is key: eggs come from the hotel’s own hens, butter from the village, and the kitchen draws heavily from the on-site vegetable garden. Wildehurst’s acclaimed wines are served exclusively at the MG Canteen and the adjoining residents-only Ivy.
Proudly displayed in the MG Canteen is a striking 4x4m art piece titled “Earthscape” by Andre van Vuuren.
The Ivy
Adjoining the MG Canteen, The Ivy is exclusively available to hotel guests and offers a charming all-day space flooded with natural light.
It recalls happy memories for owner Joanne Hurst who spent many a balmy day with her late husband Chris at The Ivy Clifton Brasserie in Bristol, England. Think elegant banquettes and upholstered antique occasional chairs, creating a space for morning coffee, tea in the afternoon and a G&T in-between.
The Ivy is also available to hotel guests for special occasion private dining.
